'Sacred Flame' is an abstract moving painting inspired by the power of fire with all its connotations of destruction, ritual and life sustaining heat. Painted by hand using Corel Painter and a Wacom tablet as well as Procreate and an iPad Pro the work was animated using Apple's Motion and Final Cut Pro.

As with all my moving image work I have composed a soundtrack to go with it and to further amplify my response to the subject. I use a variety of synthesisers, guitars and found sound recorded and mixed in Logic Pro.

Claire Reika Wright whilst originally a traditional painter using oils and acrylics began working in the digital domain back in the early 1990s and for the past 10 years has concentrated on moving image work. Her videos and interactive artworks have been short listed twice for the prestigous global Lumen Prize for digital art. Her work is in public and private collections around the world and her moving image work has recently been shown in exhibitions in London, Athens, Hong Kong and New York.
