Close up video of Human Male face processed into a temperature map through a series of open source file conversion algorithms.

Processed video is then processed into a separate customized Java image processing algorithm where the video is converted to terrain data.

Terrain data is analyzed for height map data and the color and height is chosen for each frame.

Finally, a looping animation is manually created from each layer of terrain.

Josh Rigling is a conceptual artist from Vermont who has exhibited all over the world.

Rigling's web projects include “Mirrors & Rugs,” a memorabilia maze in legacy HTML and “Hidden Hidden,” a public GIF index. He created “World Famous Faces” for the Google Cultural Institute. “Cool Ascii Boxes,” a wall sculpture series for Mary Sky, runs “Cool Ascii,” a compendium of failed images.
