A pool of chance

A pool of chance features splashes of color that fall onto an imaginary pool and drift to draw an infinite loop of unexpected patterns. Each color is given a unique characteristic and will interact with other colors in different ways. A color may blend into, repel, float upon, or submerge beneath its neighbors. Some combinations cause more complex reactions in which one absorbs another or both swell together, and so on. Although only one algorithm is used throughout, a slight change in the parameters and initial conditions can create a significantly different outcome such that everything occurs by chance and never happens again. All the scenes are generated by openFrameworks and post-edited.

A pool of chanceは、まるでプールの様なキャンバスに落ちてゆく色彩が、様々なパターンの無限ループを描くように色が飛び散っています。それぞれの色には独特の特性があり、色は、隣の色の下に混ざり合い、はね返り、浮き上がったり、沈んだり。生まれた物体はある一方は他方を吸収したり、または両方が一緒に膨らんだり。すべてのシーンはopenFrameworks/OpenGLによって造られ、色の層を合わせて質感を作り出し、奥行きや空間を作り出すことで絵を描いていきます。唯一無二のアルゴリズムをお楽しみください。

His acclaimed animations have been screened at film festivals including the Melbourne international Film Festival, Animex Festival London and Punto y Raya Festival.
